TrailBlazers Announce First Club Hosted Race

ATLANTA, GA May 17, 2004 --The TrailBlazer Adventure Racing club is hosting the Midnight Rush Adventure Race. Details are posted at: http://midnightrush.trailblazerar.com

The Midnight Rush Adventure Race will take racers through the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains in Dawsonville, GA. Teams of three will race for up to 12 hours in high heat and humidity. The race will take participants on Forest Service roads, single track trails, and moving water as they navigate the entire race. The race is unsupported so racers will not have to beg friends to sit at TA's and haul their gear around the course.

"I think the racers will be pleasantly surprised by the location and the course design. I'm incorporating some unique elements to the structure of the race course. There will be no special tests or mystery events to surprise the racers. We will have a challenging course that will test the navigators however," says race director Kevin Fordham.

The race will take place August 14-15th, 2004. Coed, all male, and all female teams of three are invited to enter. The coed teams are the elite category for this race. Coed teams are the only teams eligible for the cash prizes. The top team in the all male and all female category will win sponsor prizes. Depending on sponsorship, prizes may be awarded deeper into those categories. Registration is $105 per person. Trailblazer members receive a discount of $30 per racer if they have a current membership. The race is limited to 40 teams! If you want to race, you should register quickly.
