Team Grits Guts & Glory, with Carol Butterworth, finished 3rd place Female Division.

Gulf Coast Conquest:
Team Hand Shandy, with Jon Barker, Jeff Westerfield, Karen Rubado, Rich Owen, finished in 4th place (46.5 hours!)

NGAR:
Haas Bins, with Star Affolter, Andy Meyer, and Steve Underwood. won the Masters division (fourth in co-ed and sixth overall).

Team Mighty Dog, with Vickie Mouw, David Cook and Ardie Olson, finished third place co-ed.

Team Lost Girl Adventures, Paul ‘Darlo’ Hewitson and Tim Abbott, 2nd Place 2-person male, 5th overall.

Team Waffle House, consisting of Marc Apple, Jennifer Iredale and Jason Kron, finished unofficially in 60th place.

Running with Scissors got a mention in the first issue of Adventure Sports Mag (pg 18) for humorous team name.

USARA Nationals:
Running with Scissors, with Colleen Pitts, Paul Cox, Jamie Guthridge, Ernie Chilcott finished 5th place in Adventure Class (29h:10).

LostWorldAdventures.com, with Tim Abbott, Shannon Greenhill, Matt Schaltenbrand & Chris Brown finished 9th overall (23h:45).

Endorphin Fix 2002:
Running with Scissors, with Colleen Pitts, Paul Cox, Jamie Guthridge, Ernie Chilcott finished 3rd place (45h:23), qualifying them for the USARA National Championship

Raging Russell 2002:
Team "Salomon Wouldn't Sponsor Us", with Jon Barker, Jason Coughlin, & Joe Petramale finished 1st overall (7:19)

Kevin Tumlin of Team Atlanta had a first place finish in the coed division (4th overall) with a time of 6:59.09.
